Getting started

  • How much does Complytron cost?

Complytron’s pricing is completely transparent—you pay only for what you need—and there is no sign up fee.

Our pricing is based on the monthly search volume you choose and the databases you want to perform name searches in. We offer a discount for each additional database you add to your order, so it’s worth adding more.

URL searches (our digital fingerprint product) have a flat monthly fee for up to 5000 searches per month.

See our pricing plans for the specifics, or contact us if you’d like a custom plan.

  • How can I figure out which plan is best for me?

The best way is to think about how many searches you typically need to perform per month, and what databases will be most helpful for your analysts.

The most popular are sanctions monitoring and PEP checks, but it’s definitely worth considering adding the watchlist and high-risk names databases for added information and protection.

Adding our proprietary URL search will give your analysts even more information about a target. This tool is an especially important solution for at-risk industries, like banking, insurance, and corporate intelligence/due diligence.

If you’re still not sure, contact us and we’ll help.

  • What’s included in the price?

The name search fee is made up of a monthly search volume and the number of databases you want access to. You can choose from the following databases:

    • Sanctions database
    • PEP database
    • Watchlist database
    • High-risk names database

The URL search fee is a flat fee and includes up to 5000 searches per month. (If you plan to do more searches than this, contact us for a custom plan.) With this URL search tool you can perform searches of the following databases:

    • URLs linked to sanctioned individuals/entities
    • URLs linked to watchlisted individuals

Click here to start a 7-day free trial.

  • What’s included in the 7-day free trial?

Our free trial includes 50 free searches and full access to both name and URL search options, and full access to all of our databases.

No. The 7-day free trial is 100% obligation free and you do not need to enter your credit card.

  • What happens after my free trial ends?

You will still have access to your account dashboard and search history but you will no longer be able to do searches until you upgrade to a paid plan. Go to the My Profile section of your account to choose a plan and keep searching our databases.

  • Are there any setup fees?

No. Unlike many other providers, we do not charge an additional setup fee.

  • None of the plans are right for me, can I get a custom plan?

Absolutely! Contact us and we’ll tailor a solution for your needs.

  • Can you help with a custom investigation?

Yes. If you need support with a risk assessment, we can provide you with a written report on a target based on a range of investigative tools, including Complytron as  well as other OSINT (open-source intelligence) tools.

  • Do you offer discounts for bigger orders?

Yes! We offer discounts for each additional database you add to your order.

Payments and Billing

  • What kind of payment methods do you accept?

We accept wire transfer or credit card.

  • What is the billing cycle?

Payment occurs monthly from the date of your initial payment until you cancel your subscription.

  • How are automated background searches counted?

If you’d like your entire customer database searched on a daily basis (a great solution to ensure you’re notified about any changes in risk status between your other periodic checks), searches will be counted as one per name per day in as many databases as you have selected.

  • What if I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time in the dashboard of your account. You will still be able to use Complytron’s search tools until the end of your current billing cycle. After your subscription has ended you will still have access to your search history but will no longer be able to perform new searches. You can sign up to a paid plan again at any time within the dashboard.

  • Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan in the My Profile section of your account.

  • Can I cancel my plan at any time?

Yes. You can cancel your account any time in the My Profile section of your account or by contacting us. You will still be able to access Complytron until the end of your current billing cycle.

  • What if I run out of searches in my current plan?

Each additional search beyond what is covered by your plan is charged at the following rates:

    250 searches/month plan – 0.6 €

    1000 searches/month plan – 0.45 €

    3000 searches/month plan – 0.3 €

    50,000 searches/month plan 0.05 €

    100,000 searches/month plan 0.03 €

    500,000 searches/month plan – 0.01 €

If you think you might need more searches on a regular basis, it’s best to upgrade your plan as this will be a more cost-effective solution per search.

  • When will your search number top up?

Your search will top up on the first day of your next billing cycle.

  • Do unused searches rollover to the next billing cycle?

No. Unused searches do not rollover to the next billing cycle, so it’s best to use up your monthly searches within the allocated billing cycle.

  • I’ve forgotten my password

Search information

  • What alphabets can I search in?

Complytron supports Russian, Farsi, Arabic and (extended) Latin characters. “Extended” meaning that we included special Latin letters like é, ü, ő, Æ, Ø, and Å, which are used in certain languages.

  • How do I search multiple name variations at once?

You can search multiple name variations by typing a comma between the names. All name variations will be searched at once. We recommend doing this for things like:

    • Order combinations of first, middle and last names
    • Spelling variations of the same name, like Filipe, Phillip, Philip, Phil, Felipe etc.
    • With and without other identifiers (like ibn, ibnat, al-, etc.)
  • What if I don’t know the order of the name of my target?

Sometimes it’s hard to know the correct order of the name. We recommend running a search of all potential name variations (separating them by comma).

  • What if I get the spelling of my target wrong?

In some cases our system can pick up on a typo or misspelling, however, to avoid missing important information we recommend running the search again with the correct name spelling.

  • What do the autofill searches mean?

Sometimes we can guess who you might be searching for and the autofill reflects that. If you see alternative names in the drop down, it could be that your target also runs by alternative names and our software recognises that.

  • What sanctions lists are included in the sanctions monitoring product?

The main global sanctions lists are searched, including OFAC, UN, EU, HMT and DFAT. Learn more about our data sources.

  • How can I tell if my target is sanctioned?

If your target is on a sanctions list the result will say “sanctions match found” and the sanctions list your target is on will be listed underneath.

If your target is not on any of the sanctions lists in our database, the result will say “no sanctions match found.”

  • What do I do if my target is sanctioned?

Follow your in-house compliance policy. This may involve contacting your compliance officer or notifying your client if you are running a search on behalf of a client.

Activity relating to sanctioned individuals and entities typically needs to be reported to authorities within 72 hours.

  • How can I set the type of position I consider to be a PEP?

Risk appetites can vary from company to company and can also depend on the context and jurisdictional requirements. In the dashboard of your account, you can adjust the sub-sets searched in our PEP database. For example, you can include or exclude local level politicians.

  • What should I do if I find my target on the PEP list?

If the result says “PEP match found,” make a risk assessment based on your company’s compliance policy.

  • What does it mean if I can’t find my target on the PEP list?

If the result says “no PEP match found,” this is a good sign that your target is not politically exposed.

  • What watchlists are included in the watchlist database?

Our watchlist database is made up of:

    • Warning data of European financial authorities (FCA, BaFin, FinMa, ACPR, IOSCO, HCPC, MFSA, ATVP etc.)
    • INTERPOL red notices
  • What does “watchlist match found” mean?

This indicates that the target you searched appears on one of the watchlists in our database. Underneath you will find details on which watchlist your target’s name was found in.

  • What does “watchlist match not found” mean?

This indicates that the target you searched does not appear on any of the watchlists in our database.

  • What is the high-risk names database?

We scrape the websites associated with sanctioned individuals and entities to find names. This forms our high-risk names database.

This database is important because often sanctioned people/companies/organizations are just the tip of the iceberg. Their business associates, while not sanctioned, may also pose a risk.

When making a risk assessment, knowing if your target is listed on a sanctioned website gives you important information on how to proceed.

  • What are URL searches?

URL searches look for similarities (digital fingerprints) between your target’s URL and the URLs on our sanctioned and high-risk URLs databases.

This is a powerful tool that gives you another way to search for your target and find any hidden links to high-risk entities.

  • What do the results mean?

If the result is “URL match found,” it indicates that your target’s URL has a high probability of being linked to one of the sanctioned or high-risk URLs in our database.

If the result is “no URL match found,” your target’s URL does not match any of the high-risk URLs in our database.
